I don't know about you, but I am a huge smoothie fan. They are the perfect healthy and tasty treat. Smoothies are particularly good as a quick breakfast that is also packed with nutrients to get your day started right. This particular drink is great because it incorporates spinach, but you can't actually taste it. Dark leafy greens are important for any diet and this is a great way to sneak them in if you aren't particularly fond of them. This drink will give you a quick burst of energy but also keep you going with the addition of protein powder.
Strawberry Banana Spinach Smoothie
Ingredients
1 banana
10-15 frozen strawberries
1-2 big handfuls of spinach
1 cup milk (or vanilla almond milk for a dairy free version)
2 scoops vanilla protein powder (any brand you prefer)
Juice of 1/2 of a lemon
Directions
Load all ingredients into a blender and blend, blend, blend until smooth. If your drink appears too think, add 1/2 cup water to help thin it out.
Makes 2-3 servings
