Shop Rebrand: Foxglo is now Cozy Threads Co.

I have some exciting news today! If you follow me on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter, then you have already seen the announcement.

 

Foxglo Designs is now Cozy Threads Co!

 

I took a little break from my shop while I was adjusting to being back at work after being a stay at home mom for almost a year. The transition was for the best, and I am truely happy to be back at work, but I was left with much less time to make anything for the shop. With the news of a new baby on the way, I was reinvigorated to begin sewing again (after I relaxed for the 1st trimester- the sleepiness is no joke).

 

My most favorite things to create are baby products. I went to school for fashion design and retailing, and for a long time I thought I wanted to sew and design clothes. More recently I have come to realize that I have a passion for home decor, specificaly all of the wonderful things to wrap around babies. Therefore, the focus of my shop is shifting from home decor for adults and babies, to mostly just babies. The new name (and fantastic logo) were created with the help of my husband, Madison. I feel that Cozy Threads Co embodies the feeling I have about my shop. I want to create beautiful handmade pieces, that are meant to be used and loved, and make your babies feel cozy and cuddly. Isn't a cozy baby really the best thing in the world?

 

Currently my shop has a selection of a few quilts, and all of my in stock embroidery hoops. I plan to expand my inventory in the coming weeks. There will be new quilts added, along with a wide range of new products such as swaddles, everyday blankets, headbands, and newborn and toddler beanies. As always, custom orders will be available on certain items. I cannot wait to show you what I have in store!

Quiltapalooza

I have my first craft fair coming up so I have been preparing for that as well as balancing custom Foxglo orders. I'm hoping to bring 5 quilts with me to the show since it is my first one and will likely be semi-small. Consequently I bought some fabric. It's going to be hard parting with these because I love all of these prints so much. 

These fabrics are for a custom quilt order. We're doing grey and white chevron on the front with the coral dot fabric on the back and coral binding. It should look really cute when it's done. I love neutral quilt tops with a colored binding. 

These prints are from the Wee Wander collection by Sarah Jane for Michael Miller. They are so good. I'm going to make a 60 degree triangle quilt with these. I love the playful prints in these cool tones. 

Another set of Wee Wander prints. It was hard to narrow it down when choosing what I wanted. This will likely be a pinwheel quilt top with the fireflies are the backing. I love the firefly print, which is funny because I hate bugs. But I like them on fabric? We'll just go with it.

Mommy & Family Craft Fair Fall 2014- My First Fair!

I am so excited to announce that I will be selling at my first craft fair in September of this year! My shop Foxglo will have a booth. I sell handmade home decor so you can expect to see quilts, pillows, embroidery hoops, paper mache letters and more. This is a first annual event so come out and support the great people who are putting it on! The show is Saturday, September 27th from 10am - 4pm, and will be held at the Edmond Town Hall in Newtown, Connecticut.

I have a been a busy lady. A bunch of new items have been listed at Foxglo! Here are a few of my favorites. Love that pineapple.

I Made a Quilt!

When I was in college, I took a class that focused on all different kinds of hand sewing techniques. One of the things we studies was quilting. Ever since I have wanted to make a quilt of my own, but never made the time for it. Until now! Here is my first ever finished quilt. I think it's super cute and glad I finally took the time to do this. 

I decided recently that I was going to add some new products to my shop, Foxglo. Quilts, blankets and pillows were on my mind. Like the rest of my items, these are going to be modern, bold pieces that are meant to bring some fun to your home. I love black and white so a modern herringbone quilt seems like the perfect first try for me. This exact one I'm giving to Nora, because I can't possibly sell my first ever quilt. I made it a toddler size so it will be perfect for her now and for years to come. 

 

The backing of this quilt is a pretty pink arrow print. The edges are hand-bound with black fabric, and the whole thing is 100% cotton.

It's been a little while since I did a Foxglo update so I wanted to show you want's new in the shop. Banners! Aren't they cute? International Shipping From Foxglo!

Great news friends! My shop, Foxglo, now offers international shipping on all products! I'm shipping everywhere. This new change is so exciting, I had to share! Here's to new friends in far away places. Cheers.

Foxglo Behind the Scenes

My arm is back in a splint for a couple weeks so I've been a little slow with projects around here. I did manage to shoot some product photos for Foxglo today and wanted to show you a behind the scenes shot. Nora's room gets the best natural light in our house so she played while I took some pictures. I just shot above her head as she pulled books off the shelf. The glamorous life of a working at home mom! I wouldn't have it any other way.

Foxglo Got a Makeover!

In accordance with my last post, I am still taking it easy over here in relation to my business, Foxglo. I'm steadily building my inventory for a relaunch that will be happening soon. I'm really excited for the changes that will be coming soon!

In the mean time, I thought that a little shop makeover was in order. I feel like this new look is more sleek, but still fun. I stitched up this little logo the other day and put it into one of my hand-painted hoops. This is also a little sneak peak of what's to come. I hope you like it!
