DIY Fabric Paint Shoes

DIY fabric paint shoes hellokelcey.com

This is less of a DIY and more of a "just go do this" post. My friend Cassie posted this picture to her Facebook page the other day and I got super excited. She took plain white $10 tennis shoes and turned them into these adorable black and white oxford inspired shoes.

She only used fabric paint to create this completely custom look. It got me excited to try this on my own. Such a simple process for a dramatic difference.

So what do you think? Will you try painting your shoes? Let me know if you are going to try this out!

I Got Dressed - Hello Apparel

I Got Dressed - Hello Apparel hellokelcey.blogspot.com

Hello! Ok in case you couldn't tell, I really like the word "hello." I'm friendly, I like other people to know I'm friendly, so what better way to do that than have a "hello" sweatshirt from Hello Apparel

I have been a huge fan of this brand for a while. They have the cutest clothes for adults, kids and babies. They offer everything from tank tops to sweatpants to buttons and temporary tattoos. Their kids clothes are some of my favorites. They just get it.

When I was looking at their website I decided to go with the classic "hello" red champ pullover. It's their signature piece and it totally fits with my personality. I know that you're thinking- "Kelcey, it's summer. It's way too hot for a sweatshirt." Wrong! Well, mostly wrong. I will wear this as much as my thermometer allows me until fall then I will wear it every day. Madison and I are hoping to take a mini beach trip this summer and a nice pullover is perfect for cooler nights on the beach.

I paired the pullover with some medium wash jeans, a gold necklace and some tan wedges, to dress things up a bit. I like mixing dressier pieces with more casual ones to create a fun visual juxtaposition.

I love these wedges. They are from Marshall's a few years ago and are so comfy. For someone like myself who is a bit wobbly in heels, these are the perfect option.

When it's too hot to wear a pullover outside, you can find me snuggled up in bed with the A/C blasting. Anything to be comfy and cozy. This sweatshirt is seriously the softest thing ever. It's so comfortable and warm and amazing, and also super great quality.

I highly suggest you go over to Hello Apparel and snag one of these. Come fall I'm pretty sure I won't be wearing anything else.

Thanks to Hello Apparel for sponsoring this post. All opinions and obsession over this pullover are my own.

Freshly Picked Love + Giveaway! - CLOSED

Freshly Picked Love + Giveaway! hellokelcey.blogspot.com

If you have been following this blog or my Instagram account for a while, you will know that were are big Freshly Picked fans over here. Nora is frequently seen sporting her platinum moccasins and I am so happy to have a new color to add to her collection! We got the goldenrod color and are so happy with them. They are the next size up from Nora's other pair, so they will be perfect for this summer, as well as going into fall and winter. This particular color is super versatile and will look great paired with many different outfits and colors.

If you are unfamiliar with the company, Freshly Picked was started by Susan Peterson in 2009 when she became frustrated with the lack of well designed baby shoes on the market. Her goal was to create a product that not only looked good, but actually stayed on her baby's feet. If you have little ones you will know how difficult it is to find a baby shoe that fits both of those criteria.

Nora has been wearing her first pair of moccs for about 5 months and in that time she has never been able to take them off her feet. Pretty incredible for a baby who is obsessed with biting shoes.

Case in point, at least I don't have worry about Nora trying to eat these shoes because they are 100% leather and do not have any weird chemicals that could make her sick. She can nibble away without damaging the moccs, or taking them off. Pretty great since she's in full swing teething mode right now and wants to chew everything.

We are all big fans of these soft soled shoes around here. They look great, come in a multitude of colors, are comfortable for a newly walking baby, and stay on her feet! It can't really get much better than that.

If you would like to win a pair of Freshly Picked moccs of your own, enter the giveaway below!

What's In My Diaper Bag + Stylish Diaper Wipes

What's In My Diaper Bag + Stylish Diaper Wipes

I love organization. I need more organization in my life. Luckily, I have a pretty organized diaper bag, so that is a start! I thought it might be fun to show you what I have in my diaper bag as a mom of a 13 month old. We certainly do not need as many items as we once did when she was teensy, which is awesome.

I have this bag by JJ Cole. I love it. Madison surprised me with it when I was pregnant and couldn't have been happier. First of all, I love the design. It matches our stroller, which is pretty cool. There are also tons of pockets and a handy cross body strap. Only one complaint, I lost one of the zipper pulls on the front! I need to find a new one.

Here is an overhead shot of the bag when it's open. There are four inner pockets and six outer pockets. In the outside pockets I keep a water bottle, hand sanitizer and all of my things; wallet, sunglasses, lipgloss, etc. Inside I have the changing mat that came with the bag, diapers (obviously), two changes of clothes, an umbrella (it was raining today), a small swaddle blanket for any spills, snacks for the whole family and my new favorite wipes case, the Huggies Clutch 'n' Clean Wipes.

Before I got these wipes, I was carrying around a huge pack of 100 wipes, and breaking my back. Not very efficient. Huggies just came out with this great idea for a clutch that you can fill and refill with your favorite Huggies wipes. I have used a plastic case for wipes and it just didn't work. You have to take the wipes out of their package, then load them into the case, and try to not pull them all out at once. Not super convenient or sanitary. With the Clutch 'n' Clean Wipes, you can just put a regular pack of Huggies inside and you're all set.

I love the designs of the clutches, they are so stylish. There are three designs total but I only have two here. I am going to have to grab the other one at some point because it's just as cute. I also love the handy strap. If you have a particularly large diaper bag, or messy baby, you can clip this on the outside for quick access. You could also clip these onto your stroller or purse for cleaning messes on the go. The best part is really that they are refillable with any of your favorite Huggies wipes! The clutches come included with a pack of Huggies natural care already inside, which is awesome. The wipes retail for $3.99, not a bad price for style and functionality!
