Freshly Picked Love + Giveaway! - CLOSED

If you have been following this blog or my Instagram account for a while, you will know that were are big Freshly Picked fans over here. Nora is frequently seen sporting her platinum moccasins and I am so happy to have a new color to add to her collection! We got the goldenrod color and are so happy with them. They are the next size up from Nora's other pair, so they will be perfect for this summer, as well as going into fall and winter. This particular color is super versatile and will look great paired with many different outfits and colors.

If you are unfamiliar with the company, Freshly Picked was started by Susan Peterson in 2009 when she became frustrated with the lack of well designed baby shoes on the market. Her goal was to create a product that not only looked good, but actually stayed on her baby's feet. If you have little ones you will know how difficult it is to find a baby shoe that fits both of those criteria. 

Nora has been wearing her first pair of moccs for about 5 months and in that time she has never been able to take them off her feet. Pretty incredible for a baby who is obsessed with biting shoes. 

Case in point, at least I don't have worry about Nora trying to eat these shoes because they are 100% leather and do not have any weird chemicals that could make her sick. She can nibble away without damaging the moccs, or taking them off. Pretty great since she's in full swing teething mode right now and wants to chew everything. 

We are all big fans of these soft soled shoes around here. They look great, come in a multitude of colors, are comfortable for a newly walking baby, and stay on her feet! It can't really get much better than that.

Shop Love: Trending

When my friend Beverly told me she was opening her own online clothing store, I was so excited. We went to college together and since I have seen her work first hand, you can believe me when I say: it's good stuff. Her goal was to create a store that provided a selection of one of a kind, high quality statement pieces, for a lower price. Trending is just that: on trend. The online boutique specializes in thrifted and reconstructed apparel, as well as handmade clothing and accessories. The items you will find are standout staple pieces that are perfect for today's modern young women. I love the concept, particularly the reconstructed goods. With just a little alteration, something that seems old and dated becomes fashionable and trendy again. It's perfect! Beverly has a great eye for what is on trend right now, a lot of these pieces have a very 90's feel, which is making a huge comeback right now. For all of us that grew up in the 90's it's awesome to see! I can finally break out my over-sized shirts and chunky heels again, right? Ok, maybe not the heels. 

I think the most inspiring part of this store launch is that Beverly used it as a way to pull herself out of what could have been a very devastating situation. She was working for a law firm at the time that was going under, which gave her all the more motivation to make her dream a reality. She is now working on Trending full time and loving it.

If you have ever scoured the racks of a thrift store, then you will know how frustrating it is to dig through the duds and end up with nothing to bring home. As a busy mom, blogger and small business owner I really don't have time for that so I am happy to let someone do it for me. In Beverly's own words:

"I figured I can take the work out of sifting through rack after rack of stained tee shirts and sweaters with holes in them to find the treasures that most people don't know exist. Not only that, but people all over the country don't have access to the thrift stores in Massachusetts and I think these stores have a lot of high end items that you won't find elsewhere."

Since she has a partial education in Fashion Design, Beverly will also be creating handmade goods for her store. Currently she is offering headbands, but intends to include more items like bandeaus and crop tops very soon.

Freshly Picked Moccasin Review and Giveaway- Closed

Before I had Nora, I was constantly searching for quality baby products. I read review after review to make sure I was prepared for our new little bundle. I kept seeing great reviews for Freshly Picked moccasins and decided Nora needed some. We just got our first pair and I have to say I am very impressed! As with many babies, my girl loves to pull off her socks and shoes. Most of the time we just give up and let her roam around barefoot. Once I put these moccs on Nora, she immediately went for them and tried to pull them off and snack on them. She gave it her best, but these shoes weren't budging. A success! 

These shoes stayed on throughout a very lively play session. I'm so thrilled that they are functional, but also look amazing. The quality is wonderful, I can tell we will get a lot of use out of these.

We went with the platinum color. I couldn't decide between gold or silver, so I chose these which are a good in between. Madison said they looked more like a metallic champagne color and I agree. They are gorgeous in person.
